Location
The story
Alpinism in Val Chisone, on Punta Cristalliera (2,801 m) — one of the most frequented peaks by Piedmontese alpine guides thanks to its perfect aesthetics: an isolated rocky horn climbed along pale granite ridges with II and III grade passages. The base is Rifugio Selleries, set among the peat bogs of the Orsiera-Rocciavrè Park. The ascent offers clean, enjoyable climbing with measured exposure and a sharp summit overlooking the Pinerolese area and the Turin plain. Companion peaks for the day: Monte Pian Real, Truc San Martino and Punta del Grillo — all chainable for those seeking a longer traverse.
