The story

Ski mountaineering in the heart of the Alpi Marittime Natural Park, rising toward the Valasco refuge and the peaks that tower above it: Asta Soprana, Monte Ciastella, Punta Morionera. The Gesso Valley was once King Victor Emmanuel II's private hunting reserve, and the "Royal Lodge" of Valasco — now a mountain hut — is a late-19th-century building nestled in a hanging cirque of lakes and granite walls. The skin track starts at Terme di Valdieri, crosses a larch forest, and then unfolds onto rolling snow-covered plateaus with peaks fanning out in every direction. On the descent, couloirs and wide slopes offer different lines depending on snow and season. A Piedmontese classic that blends history, Savoyard engineering and spring skiing.
