The story
A ski touring day in the Beaufortain massif, French Savoy — one of the quieter yet most complete destinations in the western Alps. Roche Parstire (2,108 m) is a small 360° belvedere overlooking Mont Blanc, the Aravis range and the Beaufortain itself — an ideal stage for spring corn-snow days. The route is technically easy but long, climbing past high pastures, weathered timber chalets, and sunlit plateaus. Nearby, Mont Bisanne and Montagne d'Outray complete the panorama. The Beaufortain is a land of transhumance and alpine cheeses (Beaufort PDO), and a stop at one of the valley cooperatives on the way home is well worth it.
