The story
Truc Murgium is a small climbing crag above Venasca, in Val Varaita (Cuneo): compact granite, technical slabs and clean cracks on a multi-pitch wall that opens like a balcony over the Saluzzo plain. The setting is low-altitude (just over 900 m) yet already fully alpine, with Scots pines, juniper and a direct view of Monviso. A great area for spring or autumn climbing, when higher crags are still cold. Nearby Croce della Moler and Monte Casternaud complete the frame.
